Adult Event Series
The City of South Perth Libraries have developed a diverse series of events aimed at adults. The idea is to provide something engaging and entertaining across a broad range of interests in our community.
All things sustainability and environmental are presented in this series. Facilitators may give demonstrations, share recent research or provide participants with take home skills or samples.
Enjoy a glass of wine and some cheese while listening to a published author speak about their work and read an excerpt or two. Most authors will share some information about their writing process, how and why they came to write their featured prose or poetry and they may share some interesting or entertaining related trivia. We aim to offer a blend of established and emerging authors in this series.
Explore health & wellbeing issues and discover new food & cooking ideas with presenters who are cook book authors and/or health professionals. Tasting samples and cooking demonstrations, example programs and information packs are exciting inclusions in this series.
Get up-to-date information on a range of current topics in these sessions. Presenters are often from community groups, not for profit organisations and education bodies whose role is to provide information and education to the broader community.
Yearning for some child free time out? Mind Lounge is an opportunity to learn a craft or have a go at something creative, discover a new game or stretch your mind trying out something new in a fun and expectation free workshop. The activities are designed to entertain and relax. They are facilitated by an experienced artist, teacher or community worker.
Held on the first Tuesday of the month 10am-12pm @MANNING 1-3pm @SOUTH PERTH
Occasionally we have the opportunity to present well known figures in a larger venue. This is an opportunity to hear from celebrated authors, acclaimed illustrators, renowned experts and popular media personalities. There is usually a nominal fee charged for this event, however the South Perth Libraries strive to keep these events accessible to all.
