Join us at an event to meet like minded people people, learn new skills or spark your creativity. A convenient button allows you to add events to your personal calendar.

Rhymetime and Storytime

It's rhymetime! Songs, rhymes and fun for the under twos.

Sessions are held at South Perth Library every Wednesday at 9.30am and 10.30am, and at Manning Library every Thursday at 10.30am.

It's storytime! Stories, rhymes, songs and craft for preschoolers.

Sessions are held at South Perth Library every Tuesday and Thursday at 10.30am, and at Manning Library every Wednesday and Friday at 10.30am.

Rhymetime and storytime sessions are free, no bookings required.

2017 sessions commence 1st week of February.

Bridging the gap between storytime and school.

Thursdays at 4.00pm

1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th and 9th week of each school term at South Perth.

Kids Clubs

Do you love books, fun and meeting other kids? Join our clubs program - it's free! All you need is your own library card and you can become a member. We have clubs for kids from Year 1 through to Year 6. Contact South Perth or Manning Library to find out more.

Lego Club

Do you love LEGO? We do! Join our LEGO Club monthly at both Manning and South Perth Library.

Sessions for 2017 commence Saturday 4th March at South Perth Library and Saturday 18 March at Manning Library.

LEGO Club is free and there is no need to register, just turn up on the day!

There are two sessions each day:

Session 1: 10.00am - 12.00pm

Session 2: 1.00pm - 3.00pm

You can come along to as many sessions as you like, and stay for as long as you like within the session.

School Holidays

There are always lots of things happening at the libraries during school holidays.

Check out the calendar and keep an eye out for flyers in the libraries when the holidays are getting close.


There will be opportunities to participate at both Manning and South Perth Libraries in 2017.

Improve and practice English in an educational environment.

Songs, rhymes and stories plus interactive activities to develop children's confidence and language.

Parents and children participate in the activities gaining the benefits of improving their spoken English.

South Perth Young Writers Award

The South Perth Young Writers Award encourages excellence in creative writing. It is open to all students who live or go to school within the City of South Perth. There are six age categories for prose and the Award is open to all students from Year 1 through to Year 12.
